Restoring Wells
Our vision for Restoring Wells is to bring hope and transformation to the people of Mozambique, Africa, by repairing broken hand-pump water wells. Through this project, we aim to not only meet their physical needs but also introduce them to Jesus Christ, who offers everlasting living water.
Just as Jesus engaged in a life-changing conversation with the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well (John 4:1-42), we believe that restoring broken wells provides us a unique opportunity to engage with the communities in Mozambique, engage their hearts, and ultimately share the gospel.
Our primary objective is to repair the existing hand-pump water wells, ensuring that the local communities have a reliable source of clean water. By addressing this fundamental need, we seek to improve their overall health, hygiene, and well-being. Additionally, access to clean water will enable children to attend school regularly, empower women, and enhance overall productivity within the communities.
As we repair each well, we see it as an opportunity to share the love of Jesus Christ with the people we serve. When Jesus encountered the Samaritan woman, He offered her living water, promising a spiritual transformation that eternally quenches the soul’s thirst. In a similar way, we strive to bring our knowledge and understanding of Jesus' life and teachings to these communities. Through outreach programs, Bible studies, and personal interactions, we aim to spread the message of hope, redemption, and everlasting life in Jesus Christ.
Furthermore, as new followers of Jesus Christ emerge from these communities, it is crucial to baptize them with the water from the repaired well. This powerful act ensures that they not only receive clean water for their physical needs but also get immersed in the spiritual blessings that the living water brings.
In essence, the vision of Restoring Wells is to renovate broken wells, quench the people’s physical thirst in Mozambique, and introduce them to the life-transforming power of Jesus Christ. Through our actions, we hope to not only provide clean water but also offer the spiritual "living water" that transforms lives and gives hope for a brighter future.
